Citi in Australia is organised into two business groups - Global Consumer Group and Institutional Clients Group.

Below are brief descriptions of the most significant business activities found within each group.

Global Consumer Group

The Global Consumer business comprises the well-known brands of Citibank and Diners Club Australia

  • Citibank
    By combining local expertise with the strength of Citibank's worldwide consumer banking network, the Consumer Bank offers a leading range of financial services products, including transaction and savings accounts, foreign currency deposits, investments, credit and charge cards, mortgages and insurance. Citibank was one of the first international banks to be granted a banking licence in Australia in 1985 and today employs more than 1200 professionals in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

    CCitibank has thirteen full service branches located in major cities around Australia offering a team of multi-lingual financial consultants and planners to provide dedicated personal service, products and advice. Citibank's customers enjoy around the clock access to customer services through Citibank Online, Citibank's award-winning internet banking platform, CitiPhone, a fully serviced phone banking system and through full banking functionality on mobile telephone devices.

  • Diners Club
    The world changed 50 years ago when Frank McNamara created the first multi-use charge card - the Diners Club Card. In 1950, a world without cash was inconceivable. Today, an economic universe without plastic is just as inconceivable.

    Diners Club was the first card in Australia, commencing in 1956 to coincide with the Olympic Games in Melbourne.

    Today, Diners Club offers a range of personal, business and co-branded cards. Diners Club provides a broad range of financial and money management services to its Members, through services such as GST Solution, Diners Club Credit Line, online account management and reconciliation and Club @lerts.

    Global Markets provides world-class global capabilities for corporate, institutional and retail investors through our dominant equity and debt sales and trading platforms, industry-leading research, top-tier institutional distribution capabilities, and access to some of the largest retail brokerage networks in the world. We are a global leader in underwriting, structuring, and sales and trading across all asset classes, including equities, corporate bonds, government and agency bonds, asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities, syndicated loans, structured and futures products.
  • Global Transaction Services
    Transaction Services provides cash management, treasury, trade finance, custody, clearing, depository receipt, agency trust services, and fund services to financial institutions, corporations, and governments that have assets and business in multiple countries and require integrated reporting and management.
  • Citi Private Bank
    Citi Private Bank, one of the largest private banking businesses in the world, provides personalised and holistic wealth management services through its global network to 25,000 ultra high net worth clients globally, including a third of the Forbes' list of billionaires. In Australia and New Zealand, our private bankers and investment specialists offer a holistic approach covering both personal and business wealth for clients with a minimum net worth of A$50 million.
  • Alternative Investments
    Citi Alternative Investments is an integrated alternative investments platform that manages a wide range of products across five asset classes including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, global fixed income and infrastructure. CAI manages capital on behalf of Citi, as well as third-party institutional and high net worth investors. CAI's goal is to enable its 15 investment centres to retain the entrepreneurial qualities required to capitalise on evolving opportunities, while benefiting from the intellectual, operational and financial resources of Citi.
